Bike Assembly Guide – New Bike Delivery

Congratulations on your new bike! As you receive your bike from the shop, follow this detailed assembly guide to ensure it is properly set up for safe and enjoyable rides. Unboxing and Inspection:

• Carefully remove all packaging materials from the bike, avoiding the use of sharp tools to prevent accidental damage.
• Conduct a thorough inspection of the bike for any visible damage, scratches, or missing parts. Notify the shop immediately if you discover any issues.

Handlebar and Stem Installation:

• Place the bike on a stable surface, ideally with a bike stand for easier access.
• Adjust the stem alignment to ensure it is straight with the front wheel.
• Insert the handlebars into the stem clamp, ensuring they are centered and facing forward.
• Tighten the stem bolts securely using the appropriate tool, following the manufacturer’s recommended torque settings.

Front Wheel Installation:

• Open the quick-release lever or loosen the axle nuts on the front wheel.
• Insert the wheel into the front fork dropouts, making sure the wheel is centered.
• Close the quick-release lever or tighten the axle nuts to secure the front wheel.

Seatpost and Saddle Installation:

• Apply a thin layer of assembly compound (if provided) to the seatpost.
• Insert the seatpost into the seat tube of the frame to your desired height, ensuring it is aligned with the bike’s centerline.
• Tighten the seat collar or seatpost clamp to the manufacturer’s recommended torque using the appropriate tool. Avoid over-tightening.

Pedal Installation:

• Identify the left and right pedals (typically indicated by “L” and “R” markings).
• Apply a small amount of assembly grease to the pedal threads.
• Carefully thread the pedals into the crank arms, turning counterclockwise for the left pedal and clockwise for the right pedal.
• Tighten the pedals securely using a pedal wrench or an appropriate tool.

Wheel and Brake Check:

• Ensure both wheels are securely attached and aligned properly within the frame.
• Check the brakes for proper alignment and function. Test the brake levers to ensure smooth and effective braking.

Gear and Shifter Check:

• Shift through all the gears to confirm smooth and accurate shifting. Make necessary adjustments if the shifting is not precise.

Tire Pressure Check:

• Use a floor pump to check and adjust tire pressure according to the recommended range printed on the sidewall of each tire.
